Star Spangled Week a time of tradition and family gatherings in Hyrum

This is Star Spangled Week in Hyrum and the events that celebrate the 4th of July every year got started last weekend. Mayor Stephanie Miller says there is a lot more to come with a full day of activities scheduled for Saturday. Miller says events start early with a chuckwagon breakfast and end with fireworks followed by a teenage dance.

“It’s a time that has been a tradition for many for a lot of years,” says Miller. “There are a lot of people who have grown up with that tradition in their families and come back to Hyrum for the 4th. It’s an exciting time to celebrate the birth of our country.”

Mayor Miller invites all of Cache Valley, not just Hyrum residents, to help celebrate Star Spangled Week. The parade is scheduled for 12 noon on Saturday, followed by booths and entertainment at City Square until 5 p.m. Events then move to the soccer fields at 8 p.m. and then fireworks will go off at approximately 10 p.m.

A teen dance will conclude the evening at Elite Hall following the fireworks and will continue until Midnight. For a full list of Hyrum’s Star Spangled Week events, click here.
