HYRUM – Star Spangled Week is set to begin this weekend. Mayor Stephanie Miller said she has been involved with the Independence Day celebrations for 10 years and every year she gets more excited.
The events will start with a rodeo Friday night. Saturday night will also include a rodeo, but earlier in the day there will be a youth parade at 10 a.m. and a firemen’s water fight at 11 a.m.
Sunday night will feature the traditional patriotic program on City Square. Miller said she is honored to have Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes as the featured speaker.
“Also we have the recognition of our veterans that have passed on as well as those veterans attending the program,” Miller said. “We have them stand and be recognized. It’s a really nice evening.”
The festivities will resume with a full day of activities Saturday July 4thl starting with a chuckwagon breakfast and ending with fireworks and a teen dance. The Star Spangled Parade which draws people from all over the valley will begin at noon.
