Six months after he got the 2016 campaign started by saying he was considering a bid, the 62 year-old Jeb Bush has formally entered the race.
You might say he is in a commanding position as the brother of one president and son of another.
Senator Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, says that might hurt more than help him as a candidate.
“If he didn’t have the last name Bush he would probably have an even a better chance of being our standard bearer,” Hatch says. “I have to say he was an excellent conservative governor down in Florida, a purple state.”
Hatch says he feels a former governor is more prepared than a former senator because of the executive experience he has had.
Reports are that Bush has likely raised a record-breaking amount of money and conceived of a new approach on how to structure his campaign.
