LOGAN — Officers tased a 40-year-old Logan business owner Monday afternoon, after they were called to a dispute between the owner and another man.

Logan City Police Captain Tyson Budge said officers were called to a citizen dispute at Top of Utah Spas, 539 North Main Street around 1:15 p.m. It was reported Jared Martindale was in a verbal dispute that had become physical, with the property’s landlord.

When officers arrived on the scene, Martindale was allegedly intoxicated and would not respond to police commands. He reportedly became aggressive with officers, refusing to follow orders.

Budge said a Taser was deployed and Martindale was taken into custody. He continued trying to fight with officers and emergency medical crews while they were trying to provide medical assistance.

After medical clearance, Martindale was booked into the Cache County Jail on charges of assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct, intoxication and resisting arrest.
