Police make arrest in 2013 eastern Idaho triple slaying

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Police have made an arrest in connection with a 2013 eastern Idaho triple slaying at a fighting dog and marijuana operation.

KIFI-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1EhLXbq) that the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday the arrest of 35-year-old Severo Luera of Tremonton, Utah, on a felony warrant.

The sheriff’s office declined to give additional information.

The bodies of 62-year-old Brent L. Christensen, 32-year-old Trent Jon Christensen, and 27-year-old Yavette Chivon Carter were discovered at a property outside Holbrook, Idaho, on April 5, 2013.

Brent Christensen is Trent Christensen’s father, and Carter is Trent Christensen’s girlfriend. The couple had two daughters, a 2-year-old and an infant, who were found in the home unharmed. They were placed with family.

The Idaho Humane Society removed 63 dogs from the property, most underweight and malnourished.
