LOGAN — A young girl was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after being struck by a truck Tuesday morning.

Logan City Police Sgt. Scott Murray said Tina Telford was walking her bike across the intersection at 1000 North and Main Street when she was struck by a white Chevrolet pickup, turning right.

“We are not sure at this point if the impact knocked her away from her bike,” said Murray. “The bike itself was dragged about a 140 feet up the roadway, where it was found up here.”

Telford was wearing a helmet. She was treated by paramedics and then released to her mother.  She was later taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Telford was traveling to McDonald’s for breakfast.  She said she was walking her bike across the crosswalk when the truck hit her.

“I was a bit scared and petrified,” said Telford. “I didn’t want to move.”

Telford said she doesn’t remember being dragged by the truck.

Murray said police are investigating the accident.
