Jessop honored by Governor Gary Herbert

Utah Governor Gary Herbert has honored Utah State University’s Craig Jessop for his lifetime achievements in the arts. On August 20th the governor honored Jessop, founding dean of the Caine College of the Arts, with the prestigious 2014 Utah Performing Artist Award, part of the Governor’s Mansion Artist Series.

At a reception honoring not only Jessop but also St. George visual artist Roland Lee, Herbert said “We appreciate what Craig Jessop has done to enhance music in the state.”

With more than 150 individuals in attendance, Jessop, former conductor of the award-winning Mormon Tabernacle Choir, accepted the honor bestowed by the Governor and presented one of what he calls his most crowning achievements–music students from the Caine College of the Arts.
