Unconscious man found near Logan River

LOGAN — A man visiting the area was found unconscious along the banks of the Logan River Sunday afternoon.

Logan City Police Capt. Curtis Hooley said a group of people, tubing down the river, spotted the man near the bridge at 600 South Main St.

Paramedics were called to the area. They located the man and transported him to Logan Regional Hospital.

Hooley said the man, who is estimated to be in his 50s, had overdosed on some prescription medication that he had with him. The man told paramedics that he was visiting family in the area.

His identity is not yet being released and an investigation is continuing.
