Tourist season heating up in Cache Valley

These days tourists from all over are in the office of Julie Hollist, executive director of the Cache Valley Visitors Bureau. Hollist said on one recent day the tourists came from such places as Israel, Germany, France and approximately nine different states.

With Ragnar Wasatch Back Relay and the MS150 bike race both taking place in Cache Valley this weekend, thousands of visitors will be staying in local hotels, eating in local restaurants, and visiting local events.

“They love the beautiful environment,” Hollist said. “They’re here for the arts, they’re here to be close to the mountains, they’re here to see the cows in the fields.

“They think that’s amazing and take pictures of them. Things we might take for granted on a daily basis they’re amazed by. It’s fun to see that excitement.”

Hollist said when there’s time they attend a noon concert in the Logan Tabernacle. Almost all of the so-called “summer citizens: who spend the summer in Logan attend the free concerts on a regular basis.
