Mustangs rout Sky View in valley clash

The offensive onslaught continued for the Mountain Crest Mustangs in a 3-0 win over valley-rival Sky View on Tuesday.

With the three goals, the Mustangs goal total raised to 10 goals in four games, all of which came in three wins.

Brynlee Welch put the Mustangs on the board midway through the first half after a long pass into the penalty box. Three different Mustangs had a shot at the pass, which fell to Welch’s feet.

Welch sent a shot on frame and Sky View’s goalkeeper got a hand on the ball, but it wasn’t enough to deny Welch.

The Mustangs struck again just before the half on a goal from Chantel Crosbie, and Welch recorded her second goal of the match in the second half to ice the game.

Mountain Crest improved to 5-3-1 overall this season, and 1-2-1 in Region 5 play. The Mustangs return to action when they face Roy at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12.
