Rollover accident seriously injures Wyoming woman at Bear Lake

A 20-year-old Evanston woman is in serious condition after she and two other women were injured Sunday evening in a single-vehicle rollover accident near Bear Lake.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, a 1995 Subaru Outback was traveling southbound along the east side of Bear Lake on Cisco Road when it swerved left, over-corrected to the right and then went off the road and rolled.

The woman was in the back seat and was not wearing a seat belt. She was ejected and found underneath one of the vehicle’s tires when the Utah Highway Patrol arrived.

Sections of the road were closed to all traffic while emergency officials responded to the scene. The woman was taken by helicopter to Ogden Regional Medical Center in critical condition, but was upgraded to serious condition Tuesday.

The 16-year-old driver was taken to an Evanston hospital and released. A 17-year-old passenger had only minor injuries and was treated at the scene and released. Both the driver and the front passenger were wearing seat belts.
