Smithfield Health Days ends with a bang Saturday

<strong>SMITHFIELD—</strong> Special events have been going on since Monday and Smithfield Health Days activities will continue through Saturday according to Smithfield City Manager Jim Gass.

On KVNU’s <a href=”http://610kvnu.com/assets/podcaster/324/2013_05_02_324_10531_2867.mp3″ target=”_blank”>For the People show last week</a>, Gass said the celebration includes a long list of events including health screenings, a parade, booths, a music competition, fireworks, a rodeo and more.

He said the big day is Saturday, and thousands of people are expected to attend the 10 a.m. parade.

Along with the parade, discount tickets are still available at Lee’s Marketplace in Smithfield for the annual Health Days pancake breakfast. It will be held Saturday from 6:30-9:30 a.m. at the Smithfield Fire Station, and will benefit the Smithfield Fire Department.
