Miller leads Bears to victory in 3A state playoffs

The Bear River Bears slipped by the Judge Memorial Bulldogs in a game that featured 14 lead changes and 11 ties, with two teams competing for a spot in the 3A State Playoff semi final game. The Bears got a star performance from Wade Miller -again- who scored 29 points.

Miller connected on five 3 pointers for the game, including a very clutch three ball from the corner with 1:26 remaining to give the Bears a 62-59 lead that they would not relinquish the rest of the way. Miller got a lot of help, though, from several other Bears.

Kody King finished with 12 points, Austin Miller had eight along with five rebounds. Stetson Summers grabbed four boards and Nick Hillis scored six points to go along with his four rebounds.

How close was this game? Besides the flip flopping on the scoreboard, if either team had a lead it never reached more than five points and, ironically, that was the final margin.

Bear River moves on to the 3A State semi-finals to face Snow Canyon, who played a dandy of a game in the tournament opener beating Ben Lomond 67-66 in overtime. Bear River vs Snow Canyon will be Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Live coverage will be on 104.9 in Box Elder County and streamed online at kix96fm.com.
