Multiple house fires in the south end of Cache Valley

<strong>Hyrum–</strong> Fire officials in the south end of Cache Valley had a busy weekend fighting two house fires, one in Hyrum on Saturday and the other in Paradise on Sunday.

Hyrum fire units, with help from Paradise, Cache County and Wellsville fire departments, responded to a structure fire at 442 South Center St. just after 7:30 Saturday morning. 

<div>According to a press release, the first arriving units found smoke coming from around the outside of the chimney and the roof of the home. Units made an aggressive interior attack and found fire in the wall above the wood burning stove which extended to the second floor. Units were able to quickly extinguish the fire.</div> <div> </div> <div>The cause of the Hyrum fire is still under investigation and damages are estimated at $10,000. There were no immediate reports of injuries.</div> <div> </div> <div>Similar crews were called out to assist the Paradise Fire Department at approximately 4:17 a.m. Sunday morning. Light smoke was seen in a structure located at 1215 East 8412 South in Paradise.</div> <div> </div> <div>Fire officials were able to access the attic and extinguish a small fire there. The fire had burned some insulation and burned through a truss. </div> <div> </div> <div>The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical. Damages are estimated at $5,000. There were no reports of injuries with this fire either.</div> <div> </div>
