Thanks to generous community, needy families will enjoy Christmas dinner

Approximately 200 local families in need will enjoy a Christmas dinner this year. Cache Community Food Pantry director Matt Whittaker says once again the public has come through just as they did on Thanksgiving. He says about 1000 turkeys were donated and the public, along with such businesses as U.S. Foods, came through with some hams on Tuesday.

“Wall to Wall Painting also came down with a bunch of hams. Schreiber employees out at Amalga showed up with a bunch of hams also,” Whittaker says. “So it’s really good to see that support from the community and really good to see the smiles on the faces of the families that get them.”

Whittaker says Wall to Wall Painting had already done all the painting in the new food pantry free of charge. He says hopefuly more financial donations will come in to help pay off the new building.
