Local Republicans hosting victory rally Friday

The Cache County Republican Party expects a lot of victories on November 6 but they want to make sure that happens. Party Chairman Boyd Pugmire says several activities are planned between now and  Tuesday starting with Friday afternoon.

He says a big rally will be staged at 5:30 p.m. at the Romney Victory Center in Logan, located at 1451 North 200 East Suite 190. Pugmire says Congressman Rob Bishop, District 1, State GOP chairman Thomas Wright and other local candidates will be in attendance.

Pugmire is feeling very confident that Mitt Romney will be the next president. He says Romney is ahead in the polls, both national polls and those in so-called swing states.

“I think he’s got momentum. I think the mainstream media has tried to paint a picture of gloom,” Pugmire says. “They’re out of touch with mainstream America. I think you’ll see another election like in 1980 with Ronald Reagan. They were saying the same thing with Ronald Reagan and you see what happened in 1980.”

Pugmire says there will be four full days of activities including other rallies, honk and waves, and a big victory party Tuesday night. Pugmire says in addition to working for local candidates he has been helping Republican 4th Congressional District candidate Mia Love. He says it is imperative that all four of Utah’s Representatives are Republicans.
