1 student injured when pickup hits school bus near Dayton

DAYTON, Idaho (AP) – One student was injured when a pickup struck a school bus near Dayton, in southeastern Idaho.

 

The Idaho State Police say 18-year-old Carrie Johnson of Weston attempted to make a left-hand turn at an intersection at about 3:45 p.m. Thursday when her pickup hit a school bus carrying 40 students from the West Side School District in Franklin County.

Johnson’s pickup went off the road and she was ejected. She and one student were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

 

The ISP did not release the age of the student or the extent of their injuries.

 

The remaining students were transferred to another bus. The crash remains under investigation.
