History of visiting magicians explored at speaker series

“Wizards in the Valley – Pioneers of Prestidigitation.” That will be the theme for Magician/Deceptionist Richard Hatch in his presentation at the Historic Cache County Court House on Wednesday, August 1. His will be the last presentation for the summer speaker series hosted by the Cache Valley Visitors Bureau.

Hatch, co-owner with his wife Rosemary of the Hatch Academy of Magic and Music, says he has been researching the earliest performances of traveling showmen, including magicians and hypnotists in Utah and Cache Valley, and he will share some stories uncovered in that research.

His presentation will also include a few performances of magic inspired by his research. The lecture starts at 7 p.m. There is no charge and it is wise to come early because seating is limited.
