The arrests of five individuals this week in Cache and Franklin Counties have officials linking the men to 191 felony cases involving burglary, theft, aggravated robbery, and auto burglary. In a prepared statement, Cache County Sheriff Lt. Chad Jensen said investigators in both counties have been working on several cases in which approximately 40 firearms and other personal electronics were stolen.On Sunday, Cache County investigators received a tip from a citizen concerning some of the stolen firearms. With this tip, investigators were able to arrest 29-year old Antonio Orozco-Cruz from Lewiston. After further investigation, three other suspects were arrested: 19-year old Leonal Martinez-Rico, Lewiston, 18- year old Jose Antonio Padilla, Preston, Idaho, and 20-year old Hector Daniel Diaz, from Franklin, Idaho. They were booked into the Cache and Caribou County Jails, respectively. Another 17-year old male from Idaho was taken to an Idaho detention center.During the investigation it was found that the suspects would break car windows and take firearms and other personal electronics, or drive around, knock on doors and if there was no answer, they would break in and take guns, jewelry, electronics and ammunition. There was also an alleged instance of an armed robbery.These arrests cleared 32 cases in Cache County, more than forty cases in Logan, more than 30 cases in Franklin County, and more than 20 cases in Preston.
