Logan restaurant offering free Thanksgiving dinner

There is no reason not to have a great turkey dinner on Thanksgiving. Angies restaurant is once again rolling out the welcome mat and offering a free Thanksgiving dinner to those who can’t afford one.Angies owner Sabor Sahalie says those who can afford to pay are invited to make a contribution to a charity and this year the charity is the Child and Family Support Center. It’s a tradition that has gone on for a quarter of a century and Sahalie says it started after he came to Cache Valley from Afghanistan as a foreign student in 1978. A family invited him for Thanksgiving dinner and since then he has wanted to give back to the community that still supports him. Sahalie says he is grateful for his employees who help make it happen.”By the way, we pay them. It’s not something that they do voluntarily,” Sahalie says. “But just for them to be willing to come to work that day and take care of people, the spirit is there. “No matter what they make in dollar tip or not that’s one day that they all come in with smiles on their faces and take care of the community. For that I’m very grateful for my employees.”Thanksgiving dinner will be served Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Angies, 700 North Main in Logan.
