Former coach speaking at USU for Homecoming festivities

Former popular Aggie Basketball coach Dale Brown is returning to the Utah State University campus this week to help celebrate Homecoming 2011. Brown will speak Friday, September 23 at 12:30 p.m. in the Sunburst Lounge of the Taggart Student Center.The event is free and the public is invited to attend. Brown was the USU Assistant basketball coach from 1966 to 1971, then was assistant coach at Washington State for a short time. In 1972 he became head basketball coach at Louisiana State University and during his 25 year-career he became the winningest coach in LSU basketball history.Brown also holds the distinction as the second winningest coach in Southeastern Conference history. During his tenure Brown saw 104 out of 160 of his players receive college degrees. Those players who attended LSU for four years had an 84 percent graduate rate. Alumni Association Director Patti Halaufia says his motivating remarks will help make a great Homecoming celebration.
