Early voting in Logan begins August 30

They range in age from 27 to 67 and the 13 candidates running for Logan Municipal Council this year include 10 men and three women. The candidates are running for three open seats on the council and there is just one incumbent, current council chairman Herm Olsen. Outgoing council members are Jay Monson and Laraine Swenson. Logan City Recorder Teresa Harris says the number of candidates will be reduced from 13 to six when a primary election is held on September 13. Harris says early voting for the primary actually begins next week. “That will start next Tuesday (Aug. 30) and will go through September 9th. Eight to 5 here at City Hall people can come in and vote early rather than on election day on September 13.” Harris says the number of candidates will be reduced to six in the primary election. The three people getting the most votes in the November 8 general election will be the winners.
