Former Aggies update

Here are some more updates for former Aggies. It is getting close to playoff time for a lot of these leagues:Jaycee Carroll – Spain/Gran Canaria – March 26, 2011 Gran Canaria loss by one point to Real Madrid 74-73. Jaycee had a game high 20 points. He started and played 28 minutes. He was 7-12 from 2, 2-7 from 3, had 2 boards, 1 assist, and 2 turnovers. Next Game: March 26 Gran Canaria 14-13 vs Valladolid 16-11. Jaycee still leads league with 18.6 points per game. Personally I think Jaycee Carroll has one more good chance next year to be in the NBA. I think it really depends on how his team finishes down the stretch and if Carroll can continue to lead league in scoring. I think Jaycee has proven, playing in the top Spanish league, that he can realistically hold his own. The question still remains for NBA execs…Can Jaycee Carroll come off the bench and provide a NBA team another scorer and give the team an average defensive effort for the 8-10 minutes he is on the court? My vote is I’m sure he could do this, but will a NBA team give him a guarantee spot on roster instead of just an invite to their fall camps.Spencer Nelson – Spain/Gran Canaria – March 26, 2011 Gran Canaria loss by one point to Real Madrid 74-73. Spencer came off the bench to play 17 minutes. He scored 3 points on 1-4 from 2, 0-1 from 3, 1-2 FT, had 2 boards, 1 assist, and 2 turnovers. Next Game: March 26 Gran Canaria 14-13 vs Valladolid 16-11.Curtis Bobb – Austria/Klosterneub – March 27, 2011 Klosterneub victory 58-48 over Kapfenberg. Curtis scored 11 points in 29 minutes of play. He was 1-2 from 2, 2-7 from 3, 3-4 FT, had 10 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 6 turnovers. Next Game: March 31 Klosterneub 17-14 vs Arkadia 20-11.Gary Wilkinson – New Zealand/Breakers – March 24, 2011 Breakers Update for playoffs. Gary has lead the team to the #1 seed in the playoffs. They still don’t know who the opponent will be, but here is an article from the Breakers website that talks about their upcoming playoff schedule: http://www.nbl.com.au/breakers-home/news/article/2011/march/breakers-confirm-home-semi-final-date/. Their last 2 regular season games will be March 30 and April 2.Kris Clark – England/MK Lions – March 27, 2011 MK Lions get the victory 99-98 over Leicester Riders. Kris scored 11 points. Can’t find a box score today on the game, but here is a link to the write up of the game: http://www.mklions.com/news/display.asp?id=5901 Next Game: March 30 MK Lions 10-18 vs Newcastle Eagles 21-6Shawn Daniels – USA/Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry – Cavalry ended the regular season with 2 victories. First a 122-90 victory over Dayton and then a 96-87 victory over Saint John Mill Rats. Game 1 – Shawn had 11 points on 4-6 from 2, 3-7 FT, 7 boards, 1 steal and 1 assist. Game 2 – Shawn scored 12 points on 4-8 from 2, 4-8 FT, had 0 Rebounds ( I don’t believe that), 6 assists, 1 Block and 1 steal. The Cavalry ended the regular season with an 18-2 record for 1st place. Here is an article from the PBL, Premier Basketball League website, on the playoff scenarios and possible opponents for the Cavalry: http://www.thepbl.com/article.cfm?id=439Cass Matheus – Belgium/Leuven – March 26, 2011 Leuven Bears 44-80 loss to M. Hainaut. Cass wasn’t listed in the box score. So I don’t know if he was let go by the team or if he is injured. Either way is it safe to say that the lack of Cass lead to the lack of scoring for their team? Really 44 points…well we are Utah State fans so that is what we will go with. Next Game: April 2 Leuven Bears 7-14 vs Oostende 11-11Dimitri Jorssen – Belgium/Verviers-Pep – March 26, 2011 90-92 Loss to Aalstar. Dimitri had 2 points on 1-2 from 2, had 4 boards and 1 turnover. He only played 6 minutes. Next Game: April 6 Verviers-Pep 7-15 vs Gent 4-18.Also if you care…I noticed that former New Mags player, Jahmar Young, has been given a 10 day tryout with Spirou Sharleroi, of the Belgian League, to see if he will fit in with the team in place of their injured point guard.DeUndrae Spraggins – Germany/Dragons – March 26, 2011 77-90 Loss to Hannover.
