The Ladie Bobcats came up short in their bid for a 4A State Championship birth falling to the Springville Red Devils 53-49 in the State semifinals. The Cats will look back at a nightmare of a first quarter, where after taking a 7-5 lead early, they let Springville loose and the Red Devils went on 14-2 run giving them a lead that they would never lose. The Red Devils had a lead as big as 13 but the lady Bobcats refused to fold and pulled within four late in the fourth. Lexi Eaton then took over, from the free throw line that is. Eaton shot a whopping 21 free throws, and she only hit 14 but made them in the clutch. Eaton finished with 30 points and 8 rebounds. Maddie Day had a productive 2nd half, finishing with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists. Dannika Webb had 12 points totaling her point score at 54 after 3 games. But it wasn’t enough against Springville who will move on to the state title for the second year in a row to play Mountain Crest who defeated Maple Mountain, 49-46.
