Logan cancer center receives Huntsman recognition

For nearly three years, the Logan Regional Cancer Center has brought healing home for hundreds of Cache Valley patients who have been able to stay in Logan for world-class radiation oncology therapy and other cancer services. This month Logan Regional’s Cancer Center was named a Huntsman Intermountain Cancer Center following an on-site visit and by a Huntsman-Intermountain review panel earlier this winter. Paul Weight, director of Cancer Services at Logan Regional Hospital, says the Huntsman-Intermountain Cancer Center designation shows that Logan Regional meets rigorous criteria for cancer specialization, tumor board participation, outcomes research and clinical trials participation. Weight says the concentrated services of Intermountain Healathcare combined with the power of the Huntsman Cancer Institute’s research model are brought together to treat cancer closer to home.
