Logan Regional Hospital named best in class

Logan Regional Hospital was recently recognized with both the 2010 Community Value Top 100 and Five Star Hospital designations by Cleverly and Associates, an independent healthcare data and consulting services firm in Columbus, Ohio. Logan Regional was ranked in the top 20 out of more than 1,400 hospitals in its size category across the nation. This is the second year Logan Regional has earned this honor. The awards are based on Cleverly and Associates’ Community Value Index ranking, as reported in the 2010 State of the Hospital Industry report, which uses 10 measures in four areas to rank the performance of similar-sized hospitals throughout the United States. The four areas measured include: 1. Financial strength and reinvestment back into the facility 2. Hospital cost structure 3. Hospital charge structure 4. Quality of care performance A hospital’s combined performance in the four areas listed above is that facility’s Community Value Index score. Hospitals with scores in the top 20 percent are designated as Community Value Five-Star facilities. The Community Value 100 subset group are the highest scoring facilities in the country — the best 100 hospitals in the nation in terms of the value provided to their communities, according to Cleverly and Associates’ rankings.
