Crack and seal work planned on US 89/91

Starting Monday, crews from the Utah Department of Transportation will be conducting crack sealing on southbound U.S. 89-91 between milepost 25 near Logan and milepost 19 near Wellsville. Lanes will close on an alternating basis as crews complete work on one section of roadway and then move to adjacent lanes. A crew will work in short sections of the affected zone on a daily basis. UDOT spokesman Vic Saunders says electronic warning signs will be posted ahead of the work and motorists should move to the open lane as soon as possible. Saunders tells drivers to be alert to workers and equipment adjacent to open lanes of travel.Meanwhile, the Monte Cristo Highway between milepost 37 (Ant Flat Road area) and milepost 56 near Woodruff and State Road 65, the East Canyon Highway, from milepost 3 near its junction with Emigration Canyon Road to milepost 14 near East Canyon Resort remain closed to all travel until further notice. Saunders says these roadways are typically opened to recreational travel between mid-May and Memorial Day weekend, weather permitting.
