Lyons: Obama’s popularity slide has bottomed out

President Obama’s popularity has been going down hill and Utah State University Political Science Professor Mike Lyons says Republicans will likely pick up a lot of seats in the 2010 elections. But Lyons says says he feels the President’s downward slide has likely bottomed out.”President Obama has changed his course,” Lyons says. “I think he has changed it very wisely. “He is simultaneously reaching out to Republicans, trying to engage them in bipartisanship, but also taking a tough line when they don’t want to cooperate over things. Some of the things he’s doing symbolically remind me of the mid-course correction that Bill Clinton made after the 1994 elections.”On KVNU’s Crosstalk show, Lyons said a good example of Obama’s reaching out to Republicans would be his support for off-shore oil drilling.
