Canal improvements one of many topics of joint and special council meetings

There will be a lot to talk about when Cache County and Logan Municipal councils hold a joint meeting on Tuesday, March 30. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Logan City Hall conference room, 290 North 100 West, Logan.There will be a countywide library discussion, some talk about a Volunteer Center, and another discussion on “Envision Cache Valley.” Logan Public Works Director Mark Nielson will lead a discussion on the county’s road tax and Environmental Director Issa Hamud will discuss a proposed new landfill site in Clarkston. Cache High Line Canal proposed improvements will be explained and there will be an open discussion on Logan City and Cache County Council relationships.A special meeting of the Cache County Council will follow at 7:30 p.m. It will be held in the Historic Cache County Court House. A decision is scheduled to be made on a proposed financial assistance agreement with the NRCS/High Line Canal improvements proposal. A proposed resolution would authorize the County Executive to execute the technical assistance agreement.
