Ethical Government Initiative to be discussed in Brigham City

A public information meeting will be presented by the Utahns for Ethical Government Initiative Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Room 154 at Utah State University-Brigham City. David Irvine, a former Republican legislator and an attorney who helped found the Initiative, will speak at the meeting. The citizen initiative was formed and is supported by a number of prominent Utahns including former Governor Olene Walker and several former legislators. Its goal is to create an independent ethics commission and gain support for petitions now being circulated. Petitions must be circulated by April 15th in order to be certified in time for the November election. The Wednesday meeting is for information and does not obligate support of the measure.
