<strong>Swimming</strong>

Region 5 Swimming titles to Logan Girls and Mountain Crest Boys.Janessa Gammill led Logan with 2 wins, the 100 Fly and 500 Free, plus was in on the 200 Free Relay winning team with Elise Johnson, Kassie Finlinson and MacKenzie Anderson. Elise joined Margaret McFarland, Jamie Hunsaker and Nicole Sorensen to win the 400 Free Relay. Sorensen won the 200 Free for Logan girls as well.Other Valley Region girls champs: Meghan O’Very of Mountain Crest in the 200 IM and 100 Breastsroke, Sky View’s winners were Laura Mortensen in the 100 Free and Mickensi Didericksen in 100 Back. Laura and Mickensi teamed with Shaelynn Bodrero and Cassie Wiser to win the 200 Medley Relay. Sky View girls finished 2nd and Mustangs were 3rd.Jake Taylor set his 4th State Record in winning the 200 Free to lead Mountain Crest to the Boys Region title. He also won the 100 Fly and was on two relays, the 400 Free with Timmy Bates, Tyler Keller and William Watts, and the 200 Medley with Bates, Keller and Jay Herzog. Bates also captured the 200 IM and the 100 Back Region championships and Jared Madsen of the Mustangs was the 500 Free winner.Box Elder was 2nd and Sky View 3rd on the boys side. Bobcats Brett Mortensen in the 50 Free and Daniel Cox in the 100 Breast were their Region champs. Logan boys were 5th.

Region 5 Wrestling is at Logan this Friday and Saturday.

<strong>Hockey</strong>

The playoffs started last night for the Sky View Bobcats as they took on the Hunter Wolverines. Sky View was lead by goalie Tanton Jeppson with 25 saves in a 3-1 win over a much-improved Wolverine team. Ryan Reevs started the Bobcats out by scoring a goal early in the first period assisted by Ryan Carter. Tanner Gray scored next assisted by Mark Burch, and then Jake Hill had a very pretty unassisted goal to round out the scoring for the Bobcats. Sky View will play Skyline next week in the next round of the playoffs.
