First District Congressman Rob Bishop, R-Utah, says President Obama’s State of the Union address spoke to the vulnerabilities facing this nation and the millions of Americans who are out of work. Sadly though, Bishop says, Obama’s actions throughout the past year do not. Bishop says after a year of runaway spending he’s not sure a spending freeze, which is actually only on about one-eighth of the federal budget, means much. Instead of cutting spending in a meaningful way, Bishop says, the president is basically locking in his massive government spending increases from last year. He says after failed stimulus packages, Wall Street bailouts, government buyouts and roadblocks to energy-related job creation, the president would like you to believe that he and his administration have now suddenly made job creation a priority.
