California teams improve their lead, Utah slips

It appears the California girls will be in the winner’s circle, but it’ll take another day to find out which ones, at the Girls Junior Americas Cup golf tournament being held at the Logan Golf & Country Club.Northern California’s Hannah Suh shot her second straight three under 68 to take a four shot lead over Southern California’s Emily Tubert going into the final day. Another stroke back is Northern California’s Mariko Turnangan who matched the tournament’s best score with a 68.Utah’s number one, 14-year old Sirene Blair, struggled to a 77 and is tied for 23rd. However, a good final round could put her in the top 10.In team play, Southern Cal has a one stroke lead over Northern Cal and they’re 10 shots clear of third place Hawaii. Utah sits in 13th and Idaho is 15th. The final day will be a 9:30 shotgun start with the leaders going off number one.The event is free and open to the public. For complete scoring details go to
