Motorcycle ride to benefit SKI-HI Institute

A 100-mile motorcycle ride to benefit the SKI-HI Institute at Utah State University will be held in Logan on July 5th in conjunction with the 8th annual Alaska Motorcycle Charity Run that comes from Florida to Alaska and back.SKI-HI Institute Director Elizabeth Dennison says the local ride will begin and end at the Merlin Olsen Central Park south pavilion. She says at 3 p.m. riders will head north to Preston and bike across Emigration Canyon to the north end of Bear Lake. Non-riders can also donate to the SKI-HI Institute. “We are non-profit,” Dennison explained. “We develop curriculum and model programs and training programs for young children who are deaf, blind, deaf-blind and have other special needs, those for their families, and the teachers who work with those young children starting at birth and through those early childhood years.” Dennison says at Bear Lake the riders will meet up with University of Florida faculty member Mike Tucceli, a deaf man who leads the long-distance riders on to Alaska.
