Reduced Non-Resident Library Cards Available Monday

Beginning Monday, June 1st, people living outside of Logan City limits will be able to purchase a Logan Library card for $100 rather than $163, the amount non-residents are currently paying. Logan Library Director Ron Jenkins says the new price will be effective for 18 months based on an agreement reached between the Logan City and Cache County Councils. So how do you go about getting a new Logan Library card? If someone wants a card they’ll need to come down to the library and bring with them “two forms of identification that shows where they live,” Jenkins explains. “They’ll need to pay the $100 and then we would issue the card. It will only take a few minutes and it will be effective immediately.”Jenkins says he likes the fact that at the end of the trial period, an election will be held to see how residents feel about a county library. Jenkins says this is a question that has been needing an answer for a long time. In the last 10 days Jenkins says he has had approximately two dozen calls from people interested in purchasing a Logan Library card.
