Utah State basketball to compete in Las Vegas tournament

LOGANUtah State is one of four basketball teams scheduled to play a pair of games in the Main Event Basketball Tournament at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, according to a report by Jon Rothstein of FRS Sports.

USU will play Saint Mary’s and Mississippi State will go up against Arizona State on Nov. 19. The winners and losers will face off against each other on Nov. 21.

The competition will likely be tough. Both Arizona State and Mississippi State are picked by some national media as preseason Top 25 teams. The 2018-19 USU basketball schedule hasn’t been released yet, but head coach Craig Smith may have hinted at the upcoming schedule in a recent tweet.

USU’s conference opponent Nevada is ranked by many as a Top 10 team this season.
